Job title: Manager, Education Programs
Reports to: Executive Director
Job purpose
The Manager, Education Programs is responsible for the development, execution and measurement of the organization’s training materials and programs. This includes responsibilities for a range of blended learning solutions including eLearning, seminars, manuals and job aids supporting both initial and ongoing learning for a range of stakeholders including clubs, coaches and officials.
Duties and responsibilities
- Identify education needs through independent research and in-depth analysis including gathering regular feedback from key Skate Ontario stakeholders and technical sport experts across the province
- Assist in the development of multi-year strategic and operational plans related to learning programs
- Work directly with all sport department working groups and volunteer operating committees to develop and execute a blended learning strategy for Skate Ontario
- Design, implement, manage and update all blended learning material for Skate Ontario
- Ensure integration of identified Skate Canada programming into the Skate Ontario plan
- Establish and manage effective working relationships with targeted technical volunteer committees
- Design and implement appropriate metrics to assess the effectiveness of all learning programs
- Analyze metrics and other information regularly to continuously improve the quality design and delivery of all learning programs
- Keep abreast of new technologies and delivery systems for learning delivery and provide recommendations for their integration into the Skate Ontario system
- Contribute to a collaborative, cross-functional team
Qualifications and experience
Qualifications include:
- 3+ years of experience in training program design and delivery with proven program results
- University degree or equivalent
- Education in adult learning principles and training design
- Experience in blended learning development including online learning content
- A deep understanding of the technical aspects of skating is an asset
- Experience coaching skating is an asset
Experience managing an LMS is an asset
Skills & Fit:

- Able to multi-task and perform in a fast paced, changeable environment
- Proficient in MS Office
Working conditions
- Travel required at times across the province
- Long hours at times to meet the requirements of the business which will include evenings and weekends
- Must have use of a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
